This is level 3 – the final level. There are no hints in this level. Try to identify as many hazards, or examples of poor practice, as you can. We suggest that 5-10 hazards is good, 11-15 hazards is very good and 16 or more hazards is excellent.
Earlier stages of this exercise: You are welcome to re-attempt level 1 or level 2 of this exercise.
Would you like to try other scenarios? Other scenarios are available including analytical chemistry, titrations, general chemistry, synthetic chemistry A or B.
Disclaimer: We have deliberately introduced health and safety issues into these synthetic chemistry lab scenes for educational purposes. We do not condone bad lab practice, but allowing learners to see such scenarios can help develop hazard perception skills and a general appreciation of health and safety. We have not highlighted all hazards in these exercises. Best practice may differ in your institution so please discuss this with a local instructor.
