ZrCl exists as a layered compound, with two layers of Zirconium sandwiched between two layers of Chlorine. The zirconium form octahedra outlined in blue, and tetrahedra outlined in red.
The structure of ZrCl consists of layers of metal atoms in graphite-like hexagonal nets.
