Fragmentation – Fragmentation of diastereoisomers (No ring fragmentation)

This diastereoisomer cannot undergo ring expansion. This is because the starting material cannot place the mesylate group anti-periplanar to the ring-fusion bond (green bonds), so it cannot fragment.
