Metal Disulfides – TaS2 & NbS2

These two examples of metal disulfides demonstrate two types of structure. TaS2 (CdI2-type) has the Tantalum atoms surrounded by an octahedron of Sulfur. In NbS2 the Niobium resides in trigonal-prismatic sites.
