Propanoyl chloride structure

propionyl chloride

Propanoyl chloride (the red sphere is oxygen and the green one is chlorine). Notice the zigzag structure of the carbon chain and that the geometry around the carbon atom in the C=O bond is trigonal planar (i.e. this portion of the molecule is flat, with all bond angles around the carbon being approximately 120°).
