RKA 182 is a molecule containing a tetraoxane ring and a fused adamantane core (orange), with a linear chain attached to a cyclohexane. From studies, RKA 182 has a significantly higher potency and stability compared to artemisinin and greater pharmacokinetic features. It has established a potential in being used for combination chemotherapy, however it is incompatible with the single dose cure approaches so further tetraoxane molecules E209 and N205 were developed by the medicinal chemistry group.
